Electric Fencing questions

What voltage runs through the fence ?   - The maximum voltage that can tun through a residential fence is 10 000 volts , our fences run at 9900 volts .

How much electricity does it use ? -- It uses about R 30 per month in electricity .

Can it be connected to my alarm system - Yes it can be easily connected to your alarm

What happens if a wire is cut - The siren will go off and if connected to your arm ed response - they will be summonsed .

What happpens if there is a power failure - The energiser has battery backup and can run for just over a day with no power .

What happens if a branch touches the fence - it will drop the voltage and possibly cause the siren to go off.

When do I put the fence on ? - You should always leave the fence on , you only need to switch it off when you trip the branches .

Will my cat be shocked ? - Cats seem to be able to sense the fence and dont ever get shocked , dogs get shocked once or twice and then learn not to go near the fence .

Do I need to go around my whole property ? - No , you can just do your front wall , or 2 or 3 walls .

What does it cost ? - A medium size house costs around R 7 500 to go around the whole property .

 Why perimeter security ?

IITS ALWAYS ON !!!

Unlike your alarm , your electric fence or CCTV is always on . Most alarms are only switched on when you go away.

IPREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

Keeping the “baddies” on the other side of your wall is far better than allowing them in and then hoping that  they dont find anything or anyone in your garden .
